About
From Cambridge originally, Loren settled in South East London with his family after his parents didn’t give him enough for a train fare home, and changed the locks anyway...
Loren gained a First in Music from Anglia Ruskin University in 1994 and went on to take a one year postgraduate course in Jazz and Studio Music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama
He has toured Europe many times with big bands such as Ray McVay’s Glenn Miller UK, GMMO, the BBC Big Band and in the backing band for many Jamaican Reggae Artists; primarily Max Romeo but also Big Youth, Gregory Isaacs, Mikey Dread and Little Roy.
Loren has played at venues include the Royal Albert Hall (backing Sir Cliff Richard, Imelda Staunton & with the Glenn Miller Orchestra) the QEH, Royal Festival Hall, the Radio Theatre at BBC Broadcasting House, Buckingham Palace and the Palladium. Loren was also a member of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra for four years, during which time he honed his skills playing in the big band tradition.
His session work has included work in many major London recording studios including Metropolis, Pinewood, Angel and Triple X for many bands including Gloworm, Code Red and Ouch!
West end credits are Jersey Boys (Prince Edward and Piccadilly theatres), White Christmas (Dominion), Memphis (Shaftesbury), Motown (Shaftesbury), Singing in the Rain (Palace) and The Rat Pack (Savoy)
